how much will financial aid pay towards a California University tuition?
2 CommentsCatherine B asked:I know it depends and varies…but does FAFSA ever pay the full tuition for a University, or do they only take care of a small portion of it? I get the max. financial aid at my City College right now, but I am just trying to get an idea of how much of the tuition it will cover when I transfer to a University. What is the maximum amount they will cover?

Depends on if you live in california or not. i think they offer more financial aid to their in-staters.
As for money, let me tell you. California is near bankrupting. They got like no money left and they are undergoing a very bad financial crises right now.
So don’t expect too much for financial aid if you want to go to UCLA or UC Berkeley. Other UC schools might offer more scholarships for you

first of all FAFSA doesn’t pay anything, it’s just a form…the info u put on the form determines how much aid u receive from different areas. it is possible to receive enough aid to cover a full tuition especially if you are a california resident, but keep in mind, it could be all subsidized and unsubsidized loans (i went to Cal State Northridge and I had all loans). you may want to apply for a few scholarships just in case and be sure to apply for grants early.
I’ve found some good information here…
Good Luck.
