In-state tuition – how long do I need to be a citizen of California?

NMSherwin asked:I moved to California from Wisconsin August 2nd of this year. I want to attend Butte Community College and don’t know how long I need to be a citizen of California in order to receive in-state tuition.

You have to live in a state for one year in order to be a citizen of that state.
